Dr. Ken Ring DDS

Our Services

Your first appointment will be for a thorough examination.  We like to spend an appropriate amount of time at this appointment to listen to you and get to know you.  It is at this time that we can learn about your past dental history and your present chief concerns.

This is an information/history gathering appointment for both you and Dr. Ring.  In most cases, your cleaning will not be scheduled with this first appointment.

After reviewing your medical and dental history our examination will include:

  • An intra oral cancer screening
  • A complete periodontal (gum disease) examination
  • A bite and jaw (TMJ) examination
  • Dental decay examination
  • A smile analysis for our patient's cosmetic concerns

To gather the above information we will use:

  • Impressions doe models of your teeth and gums
  • Digital x-rays
  • Digital photographs
  • Intraoral camera photographs

Dr. Ring will compile all of the above information and prepare a treatment plan for you.  Either Dr. Ring or a member of his team will go over your treatment options and approximate costs at your next appointment.

Mercury Free Dentistry:

Dr. Ring uses the latest dental materials which have no mercury in them. We use composite fillings (white fillings), gold, precious metals and different types of porcelain.

Cosmetic Dentistry:

All of use would like to have a beautiful smile. There are many different ways of improving a smile from very simple composite bonding procedures to complete porcelain crowns. Many times shaping of the teeth with Porcelain Veneers or simple contouring can create beautiful smiles. Ask us about the many different options that are available.

Dental Implants:

Dental implants may offer a practical solution to tooth loss. We place the dental implants which are then restored with an implant crown. An implant partial or denture may be an option for some patients.  This is a wonderful restorative option that provides replacement of missing teeth that is very predictable and comfortable.

Root Canal Treatment:

Natural teeth are meant to last a lifetime. Even if one of your teeth becomes injured or decayed, it can often be saved through a specialized dental procedure know as root canal (endodontic) treatment.

Crowns and Bridges:

There are many options here, depending on the particular situation. Strength and esthetics are so important and the decision is based on certain needs and requirements of both the patient and material. Dr. Ring is an expert in the decision process for recommending the correct crown or bridge needed for the situation.

Whitening:

Part of a beautiful smile is to have nice white teeth. All teeth pick up stains as they age just from our normal eating and drinking habits. It is very easy and efficient to have your teeth whitened which results in a cleaner brighter and younger appearance. Once your teeth are whitened professionally it is easy to keep them looking nice.

N2O and Sedation:

We do strive to provide quality dentistry for our patients in a comfortable manner.  Most dental procedures are performed using topical anesthetic and local dental anesthesia.  Also be aware that we have different types of local anesthetics to fit individual patient needs.

Some patients require more sedation than a local anesthetic provides.  We then have the ability to provide our patients with what is known as "Conscious Sedation."  This can involve the use of nitrous oxide, sometimes called laughing gas, or the use of sedative agents such as Halicion or Ativan.  The advantage of conscious sedation is that its use provides less anxiety and lessens any discomfort that some patients experience.  It is a very safe and cost effective way to provide a comfortable dental experience.

Dental Hygienists:

The health of your gums is so very important. All patients need a healthy foundation to support their teeth. We emphasize the need for healthy tissues. Our hygienists use both ultrasonic and hand instruments for your professional care. We recognize periodontal (gum) disease and treat it as the need exists.
